Paddle and Trail Amped Up Adventure Race - Aurora

Are You Ready to Get Amped Up?
Paddle and Trail presents a brand new series of adventure races that are sure to draw people from far and wide to challenge, test and push their overall adventure racing skills and fortitude. These hybrid-style adventure races will combine a sprint paddle, biking and urban obstacle course components.
The race series will be held in Aurora, Ill, Beloit, WI and Rockford, Ill. Each 6 hour adventure race is specially designed to incorporate the local natural assets (local water and land trails, and parks) with the races culminating with the obstacle component of the race in the downtown of the respective race communities.
There will be four main competitive categories that individuals and teams can compete in:Amateur Division, Team Division, Youth Division and Pro Division. There are a number of adventure race training series and clinics planned leading up to the different races.
Amped Up Adventure Race - Aurora
Get ready for some fun! The Aurora race will be centered along the beautiful Fox River Trail near the Paddle and Trail of Aurora store and Hollywood Casino in the heart of downtown Aurora. The Aurora race will benefit the Illinois Paddling Council and Be Active Outdoors, both non-profit organizations that in turn will support efforts to re-engineer the Fox River Canoe Chute in downtown Aurora to make it functional for paddlers on the Fox River.
Race Components:
- Bike - approx. 6 miles - road bikes not recommended. Trail will be dirt, gravel & paved.
- Run - approx. 6 miles - will be broken up into legs
- Paddle - approx 4 miles - kayaks or canoes can be rented
- Obstacle Course - urban obstacle course, does not involve mud!
